White Tower leads pai ban

Zhong Shi's drama "White Tower" is finally about to start filming. Today (May 31st) a press conference will be held. The main focus is the leads Jerry Yan and Zhang Jun Ning, who have signed contracts yesterday (May 30th). The drama crew can finally breathe a sigh of relief. But preparations from the beginning until now, Director Cai Yue Xun's strict demands have caused the manufacturers to become "deserters."

Although the leads have been chosen early on for Director Cai's "White Tower," but they came across many difficulties in the process. Because Zhang Jun Ning will be filming a movie "Gui Si" with Jiang Kou Yang Jie and Zhang Zhen they'll be schedule problems. The person in charge of this drama said, "All I can say is that it's most exhausting for the staff members. Right now we are already actively seeking for a new manufacturer." In addition they area also finding a filming location. Because of the rumors about ghosts in the hospital while Lin Wei Jun was filming "Nan Ding Ge Er," many hospitals don't want to lend their space for drama filming. This also caused the drama crew a lot of trouble.

Jerry Yan's filming of a new drama is hindered

Jerry Yan will start filming "White Tower" at the end of this month. Jerry has always been popular among advertising companies, endorsing all kinds of products. So it's hard for the drama crew to find sponsors, therefore to avoid agreement violations Jerry still hasn't signed the contract yet.
After "Meteor Garden 2" Jerry hasn't been in another drama for 3 years. On the 29th of this month he'll accept to act in the new drama "White Tower," working with Taiwan's senior actor Dai Li Ren. According to what's known, this drama is about to start filming but Jerry still hasn't signed a contract. The pay isn't the problem, it's only that he's very popular among advertising companies. He endorses clothing, motorcycles, beverages, and other products, clashing with the sponsors of the drama.
Jerry's manager admited that they haven't signed a contract because of the conflicts with commercial contracts, avoiding any agreement violations. Jerry will be portraying a surgeon in the drama. Recently he's been asking nonstop when he can take some classes concerning surgery, hoping for a better performance. He's read many medical books. In addition, for this drama, next half of the year he's suspended commercial, movie and other projects so that he can concentrate on this drama.

Jerry Yan was being picked as the male lead for Zhong Shi's 8pm show, Bai Se Jiu Ta. On the 29th, they would be holding a grand opening ceremony for the flim start. However, the crew had met lots of problems when looking for places to flim. One of the reasons that caused that was because, male lead, Jerry Yan have been "sold out" from top to bottom. He endorses in lots of products. During fliming, whether is it, the hospital, place of shelter, eat, use, wears, drink, he too have to consider what he have endorsed in. He needed to avoid what he could avoid. If he couldn't , he would have to ask the manufacturer for help, it was quite a headache.

After the distance from Meteor Garden 2, Jerry have not had any works in the tv drama area for the past 3 years. He, met lots of problems during the process of recieving the role of Bai Se Ju Ta. Just the contract alone, they had amended it for around 10 times. However, it wasn't the problem of the money that he would be getting but the dates of him endorsing in other products and the promo dates. If it clashes with the drama, how should they handle it ,as such problems.

Yesterday, Jerry's manager, Zhi Xiang Li, expressed , "This is actually a important problem. The contract was seen through so many times because of the tiny details. Jerry endorses in drinks, apparel, toothbrush, handphone, motorbike. In the show, all these might appear anytime and we have to avoid. We would have to reach the contract or work with the manufacturer. Each product that he endorses in has a different dateline and during the period of fliming, he would be endorsing in other new products, all these are put into consideration."

Bai Se Ju Ta's main Zhong Kuan, Jun Yi said, "The contract have been seen through many times but not signed, it's really because of the tiny details. Most of Jerry's endorsements are around Asia. For himself, we have got lots of manufacturers to sponsor the fliming. There's bound to be conflicts, thus both of us are compromising. He's a sell point from top to bottom, do understand us loh.."

Other than the problem of commercials, Jerry himself is most concern about the indulge in the role itself. He kept asking recently, "When would i go and attend lessons on operation ?" Before that, he had gone for medical studies and also to study on Dai Li Ren, his biggest opponent in the show. Both of them are determined and aim for perfectness, how they are going to get along in future is also in attention of the people.

Yesterday there were 3 F4 members but missed one. Zaizai, who is still a student, had to attend classes yesterday. He was to arrive in Hong Kong last night but he missed the last flight after finishing school. He will come today to join F3. Pepsi spokeswoman Miss Li admits that F4 is here in Hong Kong to shoot a new commercial. To maintain secrecy, Pepsi will not let the media present. Jerry Yan receives $480,000 per episode

A few days ago F4 went to Japan to shoot a pictorial. Tomorrow they will hold a press conference in Tokyo. The 4's worth is also reaching new heights. Jerry Yan earns HKD$120,000 (about NT$480,000) for one episode while the other members earn HKD$100,000 (about NT$400,000), the highest record for Taiwan idols.

Though there are currently conflicts between China and Japan, F4 still flew to Japan as originally planned to shoot a pictorial. It's estimated that at least 10 million copies will be published with profits surpassing 100 million. Following there are still Japanese commercials to be filmed. F4's money-making operation in Japan is starting. And because Jerry will be acting in "White Tower," Cai Yue Xun, the producer, expressed that put his all into coordinating with him. They'll discuss further when he returns from Japan.

To "en shi" (be kind to teacher?) Jerry was willing to act with a price reduction. According to what is known, for 1 episode he earns more than $400,000. F4 reunites and goes to Japan to flim a pictorial. Today, they would even be holding a press conference to meet the Japan media. With Meteor Garden, F4 went popular in Japan. The 4 of them gathered together and went to Japan and to flim the first themed pictorial. Other than that, the Taiwan government is considering to get F4 to be the spokesperson for the tourism board in Taiwan, using their popularity in Japan to attract Japanese tourists. And Taipei minister, Ma Ying Jiu have said gave his support, agreeing that F4, who is popular in both Japan and Taiwan is a great choice. F4 hopes to become the spokesperson to introduce the Taiwan's tourism.
